LOL........Do you have a false image of politicians? Those who are too smart to engage in politics are punished by being governed by those who are dumber. In politics stupidity is not a handicap. Practical politics consists of ignoring facts. Politics is perhaps the only profession for which no preparation is thought necessary. One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors. In religion and politics, people's beliefs and convictions are in almost every case gotten second hand, and without examination.
