Sure... but when too big... you get revolution :O) Educating population is not altruism... it is pragmatism.. more cream can rise.. more chaff blows away... Always will be gap of course... Soviet Union and China examples of Communism not working... Actually makes gap worse..

There are guys, who, no matter you educate will not amount to much.

What counts is atitude towards productive work.

The educational establishment sucks money and that money does not translate in more capable people.

But education is a sacred cow. Cannot be contested.

Thus, lazy people seek a diploma as hard work avoidance.

The Great Unwinding is going to expose these costs See student credit being blown up.
