yes Haim.. and that goes hand in hand with the rah rah of consumerism.. one issue is now you have 9.8% unemployment... but devaluation enough to competitive with the east is a long way down and so is the accompanying standard of living... They could maybe catch Germany who seems to be doing fine presently ..

The slide started before Obama's tenure.. but I would agree that he has done all the wrong things to fix it... rather they've been putting out fire with gasoline ... meanwhile China is admonished for trying to contain inflation before it gets out of hand..

Interesting that US prez seems to be hobbled by the houses.., China central government is hobbled by the power of the local/regional governments (I have personal experience).. Maybe our parliamentary system is better.. When the PM has a majority.. an MP going against the party will likely be turfed out... forced to run as an independent which is usually a career ender..
