From another right thinking musician------interesting conversation with a drummer the other evening. Economic times are such that there are few gigs in the Washington, D.C. and Virginia area for large band groups. Restaurants can't pay larger groups and people no longer have the large weddings at which they hire a band. The standard now is DJ music. Another sign of the times-------cheaper to hire a DJ with prerecorded canned music than to hire musicians for 'live music'. This economic collapse is Obama's 9/11------after 9/11/2001 musicians could not find a gig. The only one's retained were the piano players. Took a couple of years to dig out of that one------now we appear to be back to the same in this area.
