The tax cut for the rich was a trap to begin with. Bruce ? (it is on the tip of my tongue), of the bush team chuckled about how well they pulled it off and how the dems fell for it hook, line and sinker. It is working just as they planned 10 years ago. The reason they are fighting so hard for it is that it is a continuation of their plan 10 years ago. YOu want to talk about forests. How about the Republican's trying to kill social security through the back door. That is the forest. They have been pulling this shit forever. Spend all the money (ideally give to the rich) and then say ok we will need to cut social security and medicare now. it is a friggen plan, a trap, tejek--gheeesh-lol!
