I was wondering about that "450K permanent jobs" claim by Wharf Rat.

Even the California state government employs no more than 329K people (not including contractors and other indirectly employed by the state).

Maybe that 450K job claim includes all of the new development around the high-speed rail stations. Not to mention the increase in trade and commerce between northern and southern California. (Cause you know, right now the only method of travel between the two regions are either by sea or by horse carriage ...)
