I am sure that would be termed a "glib lib" initiative by certain bigots but if it is either glib OR lib, I'm all for it! Kids learn to value what they SEE valued and what they SEE rewarded in their home and school. Extreme religious teachings(chosen people/nation/etc.) make it difficult for any kids to develop a universal sense of kindness since they are taught to demonize certain cultures , behaviors, or beliefs. Any culture or teaching that sets people on separate podiums and labels them as "good" or "evil" by virtue of which mythology they have embraced and supported with their life and their money, is bound to create wars and human suffering. Outside of the terrible (stomach turning) tales in the bible, the next most horrible examples are the 9-11 crew. Pius and smug and doing God's work. Maybe if their school had a kindness award they might have become human...
