Yes, but did he oust LBJ and brag about it? He talked against the war, but did he brag about ousting the man who signed the Civil Rights Act? And again... that was signed in 1964. MLK JR and blacks and a few whites were in on the battle. It is a pathetic rewrite of history to say that 'liberals' (read white male liberals) made it happen, and it is demeaning to the history of the people who were being being beaten and lynched and hosed. and do you remember a reason MLK Jr was against the war? are young black men being sent off now in greater numbers through the draft than the middle-class white boys who managed not to go? Fighting against a war because a person doesn't want to die makes sense, but the moral element is a tad lacking. And if you can show me how some white male hippies made the Civil Rights Act happen, or how they were out in numbers marching to change things for women, bring in forth. A man acting like he doesn't believe all that is good and powerful recides in balls at a moment he wants to get laid is not sufficient. And if people who are against the 'eunech' Obama now were really interested in ending poverty, they might notice the thinhgs he's done in that measure. But then... not going to war doesn't really translate to caring about poverty. poor people are stupid and fat and ignorant... if it is said of the white who is that, it is said of that black. MLK Jr understood that. middle-class whites strutting about did not. and do not. I rewrote nothing.
