So true. For more than thirty years, the US had not relation with Iran, I ran learned to be self reliant. Iran launched its own satellite, does stem cell research, build it own weapons, etc. OTOH, the Arabs are the US' ally, what have they achieved? Nothing. Look at Cuba, the people of Cuba suffered, yet they have universal health care, self reliant, innovative, etc. That tells me people are better off from under our control. Venezuela is better off without our interference.
