Some countries are standing up to us. Kudos to them. Unfortunately, we will consider them terrorists and bomb the hell out of them.

Some of these countries were quite eager to be relieved of
natural resources, and some are living very well thanks to
constant depletion of their natural resources. The latter
group includes Australia and Canada, the Saudis, and a few
Arab nations.

Crony systems are the main problem in these countries - and
now in USA, as we know. China miraculous rise was entirely due
to relaxing crony
standards. This led to rapid growth of standard of living,
from ultra low (North Korea like) to quite low (at present).
China just has a lot of folks -g-

It is true that US foreign policy is to constantly bully
other countries into their point of view of liberty. It is
also true that US remains largely ignorant of diverse
cultural background in these nations. Some nations just cannot
be bullied into US style democracy because their cultural
roots are very different. US needs to learn to be more
diplomatic about these issues. Few people in US and Europe
can understand the way of life in the mid-East that naturally
follows from thousands of years of their history.
