Yeh o so great, being deep into to this world waaay back i was aware Big Brother and The Holding Company with Janis about a year before she exploded on the world scene.
"Take another piece of my heart" , of course,one of monsters she did with Big Brother in S.F.
The thing is as the yeas have past i have come fully to realize she was truly one Hall of Fame great vocalists.
She always talked about how Bessie Smith was her heroine--the one she sought , the shadow over her.
Well Janis , given a heaven, i am sure Bessie was right there to give you a big hug and say "Way to go girl, you were great":)Max
