Further, you can decrease debt by raising taxes.

Why in the world would anyone in their right mind choose that route over decreasing the spending?

It's mind boggling!

Must be that damn global warming again

Sunday's high in the metro area was forecast around 5 above zero, with windchill values between 21 below and 31 below. A north-northwest wind will blow, with gusts as high as 28 miles per hour.

Sunday night's low will be around 15 below, with windchill values between 23 below and 33 below.

The Salvation Army, for the first time, canceled bell ringing in Minnesota and North Dakota.

Scores of events, including the Holidazzle parade in Minneapolis and high school hockey and basketball games and wrestling and gymnastics meets across the Twin Cities, were canceled. Among them, ironically, was a celebration in St. Paul of the 20th anniversary of Will Steger's International Trans-Antarctica Expedition. The weather was just too foul to hold it.

Americans already pay far too much in taxes. Why do Libs have such a mental block about that fact? The only reason Dems want to raise already far too high taxes is so they can use pork to win re-election. If they can't use pork to bribe voters, they don't get re-elected.

Obama said the tax bill will create a million jobs and save the economy.

I guess you are against jobs and want the US economy to fail, that makes you a traitor according to Obama

Your example is absurd. War time is entirely a different matter.

Your points regarding taxing people more instead of being fiscally responsible makes no sense.

Your argument is very weak. When spending increases and tax revenues drop as they have because of economic conditions, we cannot support the interest payments on the debt.

Washington is and has been out of control. We elect inexperienced politicians to do a job and their performance reflects the voters terrible decisions.

When one is in debt one does not have the ability to print money.
