On the third end is the belief that we are each responsible for our own deeds, and nobody else can lift the blame from our shoulders. Nobody died for my sins (that's just a convenient cop-out giving me freedom to sin), hopefully nobody has died because of my sins on the job, nobody can make them right, and I need to avoid making them again. Once a year, I say what Jesus said, updated somewhat with the times. I think opportunities to sin increases with the population/sq mile.

Well, said, imo. The concept of original sin is to me kind of one of those 'angels dancing on the head of a pin' arguments. It's pretty much a Catholic construct, historically speaking, dating back to Augustine and a few passages from Paul's letters. The main thing is that it should never ever divide Jews from Christians. The emphasis throughout the OT and NT is one of personal redemption and becoming one with God.
