It's pretty obvious they don't want to pay more taxes unless all people with 1/10,000th of their wealth pay more.

Could you imagine the pariah you'd be if you suggested someone with 1/10,000th of your wealth should pay more taxes?

We ain't gonna volunteer in order to ease the pain of all you parasites. I wouldn't volunteer more taxes if I was making the budget. I ain't paying for these wars. I ain't gonna voluntarily pay more so GE & Exxon can keep paying nothing, and the 4 Billion Dollar Man can keep paying 15%.

Yeah, we could send money to the treasury, but only idiots think up things like that, and we aren't idiots, which is why you thought it up.
Why pay off somebody else's debt when we all know deficits don't matter at all?

"If they wanted to pay more"
They don't want to pay more; they just know they have to pay more, and are willing to do it as an act of, gasp, patriotism...putting the country ahead of themselves. Real patriots, not the Faux&Brumar kind.
