'chattle slavery' might be the only one qualifying as 'actual slavery' from your perspective

Bear in mind that this started as a question about libertarians and the legitimacy of selling oneself into slavery so that's my context. It means converting oneself from person/citizen status to property status, which is a really big deal. Chattle slavery is the only "slavery" that jumps into a different paradigm, thus IMO the only form that a libertarian might struggle with.

EDIT: When I was a student in Mexico City in the sixties, one of my housemates arranged to take a maid from the home in which we were staying home to New York. While I lost touch with her after returning home, I have no doubt that the maid was treated like family.
