Dipy,

ASND sure has been punished very harshly and especially for the past 4 weeks or so, and for now your mocking of the stock and its share holders (those who like myself first bought it as an entry point in the mid to high 40's) may make sense. However you may want to check back (as I am sure you will and I do hope you will) in about 6 months (or by Q2 98), and then lets see if ASND would be back in the $60-$80 or even more valuations then. My experience has been that any high tech company that is in a fast growing sector of the economy is due to face high volatility. However when the company is at its bottom (and perhaps we still have not seent he bottom for ASND), and they start pushing their R&D the ultimate result will be achieving higher highs and setting new milestones. ASND with absolutely zero debt and a very storng balance sheet is massively investing in its R&D (if you live in Silicon Valley tune to radio stations - e.g. KCBS 740 all news and others, or buy next Sunday's San Jose Mercury news, or for that matter go to their web site), and find out about the engineering positions that currently have available (they just opened a brand new R&D lab in Mountain View). I for one no longer have absolutely no fear of holding on to this stock as I am confident than before that ASND will be back in its all time high valuations shortly in 98.

As for the idiotic take over rumors I for one have come to the conclusion that the company will not be for sale. Any company that starts spending and investing so massively in its R&D at the time its stock is taking such a huge down trend and setting new lows every day (if not every hour!) is not getting ready to sell itself to someone else!
