The only problem with Dell buying its own options, Number 3, is that it's not going to help the stock price. They have to buy the stock itself to buoy it. Also, even though Michael Dell knows how his company is doing, he can't know what p/e the market is going to assign to it. If people are taking money out of the market, then prices are going to go down regardless of earnings. When the plug is pulled, the water goes down everywhere, and the ships, not being aircraft, go down with it. So while we may all rationalize our positions, everyone should consider how they would feel if they are wrong. If the market does really tank, are you going to be all right? Or are you going to freak out? This is the question that everyone must answer themselves honestly!
