Yes to your Wikileaks/Animal Farm allusion, but there's another dimension here, diplomatic immunity in one form or another goes back thousands of years ... envoys, safe passage, all that ... the U.S. is not only flouting international convention with all this, they're rubbing the Indians noses in it.

Unless, of course, they're willing to have their diplomats strip-searched as well. <g>
