Great "Back-Door" to aged theStreet.com articles

This one mentions QNTM and the general market malaise.

abcnews.com

Thanks for putting Cramer ASND relationship here in prospective.
He seems to dominate their articles, and it's nice to know he's
a mortal, just like most of us. (present company included)

Z, you asked >Any thoughts from experts on the subject?<
My expertise was in DD component development (heads, disk, R/W channels), not manufacturing. If SEG is convinced they need the
added data density MR heads can provide, then it makes sense
for them to buy MR heads, if they are capacity constrained.
I am somewhat surprised inductive heads have lasted this long.
After all, the first drives with MR heads were shipped 6 years
ago.

I don't know what the conversion form making inductive to
making MR costs. Both use a thin film process, but MR is more
complex, because you need to make separate read and write
elements which are closely aligned.
