Perhaps investors don't change their mind very quickly without reason, but at every instant there are different investors active, so the MARKET can change very quickly with no apparent reason. Stock prices are determined by activity at the margin, so it is not necessary for any particular investor to change his mind -- it's enough that the active investors of a moment ago satisfy their whim and disappear, and new investors pop up.

JMHO, as always.

Martin, I respectfully disagree. I don't beleive that every - or even most - 1 to 2 point moves in a stock at this price can be tied to any particular "event". Not even if they are within a 1-hour period.

In fact, if they are correlated to anything, moves of that magnitude are more likely correlated to the general market.

And, in fact, Perhaps therein lies your answer. In case you didn't notice, most tech stocks are doing about the same thing right now. If you have real-time charts, pull-up a few tech charts to watch alonside SUNW. Looks like a synchronized swim team.
