I realized today that with the economic downturn a couple years ago, early retirement via benefit checks from the gov't was handed out to thousands of people, maybe hundreds of thousands. Basically, if somebody was 62 at the time the huge downdraft appeared and their job went BK, unemployment payments for more than three years have bridged them entirely to full SS retirement.

Maybe towards the end of this decade, I'll take an early gubbamint-sponsored retirement at age 60, or lower!

What a strange trend with collapsing gov't revenue! Life in these United Altered States of Reality.
