BS, that's a trend I identified last century and is obviously going to happen when you understand that female brains grow 3 years sooner than male: vancouversun.com When you understand causes, it's easy to understand the effects. There was brief mention in that article about development time, but mostly it's hand-wringing. All it shows is how disadvantaged women had been in education in bygone eras when leaving school at 15 or 12 was the norm and educating women wasn't considered particularly valuable since they'd all be married and pregnant by the time they were 18 anyway [if not 16]. Unfortunately, one of the results will be that females are accepted into limited university spaces because of their advantage in the immediately preceding years even though swarms of males should be there but because they are three years behind, get left out. It's a major misallocation of educational resources and waste of male talent which goes off to do something else instead. Fortunately, education is vastly over-rated, therefore many males will find something much more useful to do than waste time at university studying pointless topics to get a credentialism box ticked on job applications. State run anything is hopelessly inefficient and counterproductive. If education was privatized and people arranged their own, things would improve dramatically. Mqurice
