Yes things have changed. I would strongly recommend you follow up until you are satisfied the information and process is well grounded. Like you, I have little confidence because if there is even one piece that hasn't been properly fitted, it will just sit there.

With my recent experience, the first person I talked to sounded like a teenager who kept saying things like, "no presert' has been received." I would ask if she meant precertification and she would say, 'yaah.' I would ask what precertification involved and she didn't know, this was just the email she had gotten from Workers Comp. I asked her to get the information for me and she said she couldn't directly contact them, she was just relaying to me what was in the email. I made other calls and got similar results until I felt I had my mind around the problem, sort of.
