Initially, cardboard plus newsprint that was picked up at each store was baled at the Jordan Station warehouse prior to being shipped to the paper plants. In 1992 Avondale moved the recycling operation to a new 10,000 square foot processing plant at 1776 Allanport Road in Thorold.
