Distilling the cloud: means individual companies outsource their IT to an operator running all that stuff from a central location. If you have people who does not know how network gear are hooked up together, they display the gear inside your house or business and call everything out there "the cloud". Marketeers, need to reach wide target audiences and use the the term cloud for them to understand the concept. Marketeers, been who they are, will abuse the term and after a while many people get confused about what the term is about.
