it's an interesting strategy -- how do you follow up it goes the other way --

would you allow yourself to be put shares, sell some more calls?

or simply close out the puts at a loss and sell the shares?

sure, in all cases a straight long position would have netted more, but what would be the astuteness in that?

LMAO!

This has already been a very enjoyable morning as I have googled an old friend I haven't been in touch with in years and found some very interesting and highly amusing and extremely intelligent stuff.

Then I read your nugget and I become even more highly amused. Now I am wildly amused. But even better is the fact that this momentary ecstasis is not related to food, drink or the expenditure (or production from thin air) of funds. I must finally be getting into the Xmas spirit.

I am easily amused.

We need to take our pleasures as they come.

Hope your boy is over his skin troubles.
