You certainly don't want to be a Christian in Vietnam... There are millions of openly Christian Vietnamese...particularly Catholics, which makes up something like 10% of the population. Remember the famous videos of the helicopters leaving US Embassy during the fall of Saigon? There is huge, well attended Catholic Church almost directly across the street from where that took place. I am not a particularly religious person, but I spend a lot of time in Vietnam.
