Morgan Stanley said Wednesday that:
- cut fiscal second quarter estimate to $0.46 per share from $0.53
- cut third quarter estimate to $0.52 from $0.60 and
- cut fourth quarter (May) estimate to $0.59 from $0.69.
- cut one-year target price to $48 per share from $65.
- cut 1998 estimate to $2.05 per share from $2.30.

- cited weak fundamentals in modem business,
- where wholesaler inventories are ''higher-than-optimal'
- ''demand appears weaker than previously anticipated.''
- 15 percent of 3Com's revenues are to Asia
- ''one-third of which could be in jeopardy.''

It's hard to believe I made a few dollars on the run from 46 to 55 a few short weeks ago. I sold cause it was positive, but had not concept that it would sink to ASND levels. Also sold ATML when it failed to break 38, but never thought it would sink to it's low either. Looks like the market is returning to April-May levels. The only way I've made money with analysts is buying into downgrades, and this is risky, good luck.
