the silver gold run in 1979-1980 took a lot of the pre 1968 coins out of circulation as many were melted down for the silver content.

I doubt that people have them kicking around. 1965 was a long time ago. But I do notice lots of ads out there. Just check kijiji in your local area. Pre 1965 will pay about 13.50 for $1 coin. Personally, I'll keep mine just to have it.
