(That's OK, Bill... 'cause I think you are naive and ill-informed. :-)

The individual mandate idea was an old Republican idea, (advanced and championed by numerous Republican politicians and various conservative 'think tanks' over the years), later copied by Romney, and then copied again by the Prez as a way of securing support from the big insurance companies and the national hospital chains.

It was *never* much of a hit with the liberals (rewarding big business such as it did) and most of them would be ecstatic to see it severed from the law.

(What the libs wanted was never this... they wanted a mandated "public option" insurance plan, or a straight-out expansion of Medicare to everyone.)

So, if individual mandate is ever struck down that may be exactly what they'll get. <g>
