FREMONT, Calif., Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Aureal(TM) Semiconductor Inc.
(OTC Bulletin Board: AURL) today announced that GT Interactive Software
Corporation (Nasdaq: GTIS) has integrated support for Aureal A3D Interactive
into its forthcoming PC release of "BugRiders: The Race of Kings," a 3D
action combat racing game developed by n-Space. A3D Interactive uses Aureal's
positional 3D sound technology, creating a highly realistic and immersive
audio experience for the PC gamer. The 3D racing game which includes passing
above, below, left and right of opponents, can now be enhanced by an audio
experience that provides true 3D positioning.
"Imagine an enemy attack from the rear in a real-life situation," said
Toni Schneider, Aureal's Vice President of Marketing for PC products. "The
first clue you'd have is an audio cue, upon which you could take a defensive
action. Now, with A3D, it's possible to simulate that situation, making the
entire gaming experience much more real and exciting."
"Aureal technology provided us with a way to make BugRiders a much more
immersive experience," said Dan O'Leary, Vice President of n-Space, Inc., and
game designer for BugRiders. "Our engineers were able to craft amazing 3D
soundfields that greatly enhance game play, and give the user a much 'realer'
experience."
n-Space previously used Aureal's A3D Interactive in their game,
TigerShark.
A3D Interactive technology is supported on many leading PCI audio chip
sets, as well as on retail sound cards such as Diamond Multimedia's Monster
Sound, Xitel's Storm 3D, and Shark Multimedia's Predator 3D.
