Goodness, I come off as double-starched or something!
I wasn't thinking of full-moose Emily Post. What got me started was the way I heard a seemingly nice young man standing in line at the fooderia, talking into his phone about apparently nothing, and without any regard for those around him, didn't use the usual filers like "uh", but in their place, and with remarkable frequency and lack of rancor, said "f***ing" as an adjective, an adverb or some undefined verbal Hamburger Helper.

Ultimately it was a tangent, not entirely germane to the topic.
cheers js

When ordering in restaurants I always get the special and if they have three I always take the first. Ordering this way is a time saver and you will nine times out of ten get a better meal because the cook has planned it. When I'm with Ponokee she always likes to review the menu for 10 minutes and then proceeds to ask the waiter who usually can't speak English a bunch of questions about something she found squirrelled away on the back of the menu they stopped serving at the turn of the century. By the time she has sent her order back for the third time I'm finished and she gets a take out box because the process of ordering has exhausted her to the point of not having the strength to eat. The waiter at this point is doing shots of sambuca behind the bar with the cook. She then promptly throws it in the trunk of her Charger where there are 20+ other boxes in a state of deep freeze.
