*AV*--just a tidbit related to QCOM

Qualcomm reports sharp rises in fourth-quarter and fiscal year
revenues and net income. It says fiscal 1997 revenues rose 158 percent
to $2.1 billion, while net income more than quadrupled the fiscal 1996
total, rising to $92 million, or $1.27 per share. Fourth-quarter net
income nearly quadrupled the fourth-quarter 1996 total, rising to $30
million, or 41 cents per share.

Fourth-quarter revenues rose 112 percent to $601 million. San Diego-
based Qualcomm develops, manufactures, markets, licenses and operates
advanced wireless communications systems and products.

*AV*--Lessons Learned Department Part #1

I have just finished getting all my old paperwork in order (reconciling trade confirmations) and posting to my portfolio spread sheet. After tabulating all the data I was amazed to see that my biggest % loss and largest, by far $ loss was on a stock outside my core competency. BYDS no longer is the DOG STOCK as I have taken claim to. By far and away, my biggest loss this year is ALYD. We are approaching triple digit losses to date.

So with all the hoopla with YR2000 stocks and the bad press given to CSGI, among others, ALYD stands out as a tragedy for me, personally.
With that said, what's the story with ALYD and the YR2000 stocks in general. The whole sector is starting to look like one big scam to me.
