Dr. Doktor,

Today with Prudential is the first KLIC presentation. Anyone have access to this presentation? Holding KLIC long. Guys also check out SMTL if it falls backs toward $15/share again too....

Sincerely,

I called IR this a.m. and asked about orders. Orders for the March quarter are coming in just as they had anticipated in their guidance a month or so back, I was told. No pushouts.

I asked about Asia. The co. has 70-80% of its sales in the Pac Rim. Many of the sales are to subcontractors who get much of their financing to buy KLIC tools from their local capital markets. Inded their best customer in one recent quarter was an Asian subcontractor. (This suggests to me that KLIC has more exposure to Asia and the Asian financial markets than just about any other semi equip vendor.) Nevertheless, orders are coming in as expected. So far, I was told, the only effect from Asia's financial markets turmoil that IR has seen is in the reaction of Wall Street.

I bought today at 25 1/2. That is 11.0 X estimated eps for the year ending 9/98, putting the PEG at 0.58. Cheap, I think.
