I've got really mixed feelings. Politics is the art of the possible, on the one hand, and that means compromise, especially in the current polarized situation. On the other hand we're pissing away middle class wealth at an alarming rate and that really requires dramatic and radical action. The tax cut thing is a perfect example; Obama got tons of stuff in return but what he gave away was huge, essentially the financial stability of the US.

Changing the message guys is hugely important. He's got to be able to sell the agenda and the current crop has done a miserable job. They have never controlled the narrative. Is it a coincidence that the tax deal got cut after Rahm left? I'm not sure.

If you knew Obama from Illinois he was always a compromiser, always a pragmatist and always got a lot of stuff done. No different now. He's not going to go to the wall for ideology. It is what it is and the far left liberals will just have to live with it, cause the other option will be the far right, ideologically driven Republicans.
