TLM: Talisman Energy appeals to me for its diverse operations and the potential for those operations.

Numbers show generally rising stated bv, and now at relatively low p/stated bv. Earnings, roe seem somewhat erratic.

Although price has come down to near lows, it's still not cheap enough for me to be clear that it's a value stock.

I'm in for a few shares today to start, intending to hold 18 months or so to see what the company does with its assets.

Upping my tracking position now a little of SSL (Sasol) on the stock's pullback.

Low p/e, good roe, good history of good roe, steadily increasing bv, good dividend (upcoming too) all add up to an attraction for me.
