Until then no smartphone based on Android operating system has yet hit this mark in sales. Galaxy S also set a record for sales in South Korea, where it was sold two million smartphones. This is 200,000 more than the sales of iPhone in this country. For comparison, global sales of the iPhone in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2010 amounted to 14 million units. Galaxy S for the first time began to be sold on June 4 in Singapore. On the shelves of European and American stores this smartphone was received a few weeks later, and currently, the cost of a smartphone in online stores has dropped. Galaxy S is an Android smartphone, features a 1 GHz Hummingbird processor along with 8 to16 GB internal Flash memory, a 4-inch 480×800 pixel Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen display, a 5-megapixel camera and on select models, a VGA front camera. The Samsung Galaxy S is a base version of the phone, the GT-I9000, was quickly followed by variant models for the US carriers, including the Epic 4G, Vibrant, Captivate, and Fascinate. ### - Eric -
