Get rid of teachers unions, they've completely destroyed the educational system in this country...

Re: [And canceling all of the insurance programs reserved for politicians and federal government workers... fold their memberships in with everyone else say I...] "Unions? Including teachers?"

Is their health insurance with a PRIVATE company? (If so then, no... that was not what I was suggesting to cancel and fold into an expanded Medicare program.)

But if they have a stand-alone government health insurance plan (like Congress does), then yes, that's what I was talking about folding into an expanded Medicare.

Re: [allowing *private* insurance carriers to market their plans in all states, and pool risk pools across state lines.] "That and tort reform seem pretty obvious good ideas."

I've never had any problem with tort reform.

But most studies show it is only likely to result in 'small potato' cost reductions. (Likely no more then 5% - 10% at most.)

Still worth doing but not as big a driver of expenses as many other elements of the current system are.
