Two problems for me with passwords:

a) MSFT tied the "remote desktop password" to the same password as the account. BIG flaw in my opinion. I had a machine I needed access too but my kid had to use it - and the "user" v. "admin" doesn't cut it always so there you have an account with a password of "1" or "2" - otherwise they can't log in.

And for me - other than outside connections - no one accesses my PC except me and my family. It is my kid I don't want on my PC. Do you think I am going to have a frigging long sentence just to get back in after my screen saver turned on? No way.

If the RDP password was separate - that would be another thing - I could then make it "I think Cheeks l0ves me". That would work. MSFT has it all wrong IMO.

b) Keeping track of passwords on the web isn't a big deal - you can use LastPass or AI Roboform. But for me the larger problem is all the PIN numbers for phones and ABMs. Chit. Now they have added PINs to the VISA/MASTERCARD transactions - jeeeeeeez. And they shouldn't be the same they say. How many passwords can I remember? Further in Canada they accept up to 6 digits for the PINS but not all systems in the US. Heaven forbid I am stuck in Buggalo NY and can't use my VISA because their system won't take anything higher than 4 digits. So Everything is 4 digits.

Twice I was in line at TD Bank - and literally froze. I forgot my PIN - the one I use all the time - TWICE. Unreal.

(Of course the US Visa renewed in August and they DO NOT HAVE A PIN or CHIP. What a JOKE!)
