Greenspan was a jackass who wasn't paying any attention or got hit on the head with a heavy object and got confused. I think the Rand thing was an affectation on his part, since his actual policies veered all over the place.

I'm not an expert on Rand, one of the reasons I'd be willing to read the book that was recommended. Never re-read any of her novels. Remember them vaguely from when I was 15. Did like "The Fountainhead" movie, but then Gary Cooper was always one of my favorite old time actors.
