Firstly, "bashing" is the wrong term for quoting scripture and pointing out how it belittles civilized thought.

Secondly, I think the Christian superstition is more susceptible to being reasoned with than the Islam superstitions. Thirdly, I am expressing my opinions on a Bulletin Board in Western/Christian culture where the common interest is 99% a polemic embodied in the dichotomy between several thousand sects of Judeo/Christian Culture versus a Rationalist/Freethinker/Humanist perspective.

Certainly, I am familiar with the Koran but my first interest is to assist my country and culture to be rational and moral and at peace--and that means trying to persuade my fellow citizens to think about what they believe and why.

I don't live amongst Muslims or Hindus or Sikhs or other believers in the supernatural. I am not in Iran or such places. I have a prejudice for persuading my first neighbors and first cousins to be rational. Of course, I merely express an opinion just as you do. My opinion is that all religions I have seen thus far are strictly irrational and strictly a matter of tribal prejudice to obtain power over "outsiders"--not that a "believer" would usually have any such awareness.

If it came down to an all-out war and humanists could not control the outcome--then of course I would do whatever I could to help the Christians win. There is a concept termed the lesser of two evils. And basic Christianity is not (per se) "evil". It is merely irrational--but with the potential to really create mass insanity in a whole bunch of unpleasant scenarios--some of which happened and remain in the past--FOR NOW.

Finally, not having grown up in an Islamic culture, I have only an academic familiarity with their apologists. And I am unlikely to find such apologists on this thread or on SI. And that is the main reason I have been responding to (IMO) superstitious people of the Christian persuasion. The people who hate Freethinkers on SI are mainly English speaking people espousing Christianity. I have responded to all of my posts and I have not been asked yet to respond in Arabic.

Good question, and thanks for asking.
