Christine, I thought it was an interesting story, and did not feel compelled to comment on it. But since you ask, I have the following points. 1) would the man have shot himself if not for the shameful situation he found himself in of being treated like a criminal, when in reality he was not? 2) what stupidity for the police officer to leave the gun loaded and within reach of the man, and these are the men who are supposed to be our substitute for self-defense. 3) overall I see this misguided attempt at gun "control" leading to the very situation which it would claim to prevent, and I found this ironic.
