With FF I also like the "Download Statusbar" add-on

addons.mozilla.org

When the download finishes you can go down and right-click "open" or "open containing folder". It then will autmoatically (after a certain time) disappear.

Also powerful enough to not show things like picture (.jpg/.gif) or ".torrent" stuff.

Plus if you are d/l a long file it will show a thermometer and time remaining.

Similar to the download box (ctrl-j) but nicely shown at the bottom left.
