Jacques, For someone who espouses fairness and reason it surprises me that you would think that to be a "classic", since it clearly erects a Straw Man before masterfully dashing it to the ground. Have you ever read the first three chapters of Paul's epistle to the Romans, or David's Psalm 19:? God has given ALL men sufficient reason (through both natural and special revelation) to know that God exists. He has also given every man a Conscience by which we intuitively can distinguish good from evil. While natural revelation is not considered by most Christians as sufficient for salvation it is sufficient to render every man "without excuse". THAT is "why" Christians tell people everywhere not just that all men are guilty before a righteous and holy God but the "Good News" that God has provided a way for sinful men to be made right with God.
