Ditto. These are this year's rules (8 versus 6). Toss in two more at 5% each. Won't hurt overall performance much and is an interesting way to stretch your imagination. (Err, develop a new area of expertise to research thoroughly.)

OT, IIRC, it concerns some that the new DSM-V, which defines what is a psychological/drug-able "disease" (i.e., open for medical insurance coverage) now includes “psychosis risk syndrome” in children or young adults, which opens the doors wide for whichever company has the magic pill and sales force to cure all ills before they happen.

Cynical view: Who stands to benefit most from this change?

i agree, we can go to a six minimum next year if that is the consensus. personally, I like the 8 minimum.

This sounds reasonable to me.

Perhaps (I suspect unacceptable) way around this for someone wanting to pick less then 8 could be to stack their picks by picking something like CYPB which is in a buyout?

I think this is for charity so I don't have a problem with someone doing that (even if it gives them a bit of an overloaded portfolio), nor do I have a problem with someone picking pharma or even a device company for that matter... maybe because I did that once :-) (and did badly with it).
