Sonki - When I bought NVTSY I just placed an online trade via my brokerage (Waterhouse) as I would with any other stock. I placed a day limit order the night before and when I looked in the morning it had filled.

The stock is traded via the "Over the counter bulletin boards" or "pink sheets." BB stocks are called pink sheet stocks because the prices were (maybe still are) printed out on pink sheets.

I don't know the mechanics of making the purchase but I called Waterhouse ahead of time and they just said to go ahead and do it, it is handled as a regular trade with a $12 commission.

I also bought SAPHY the same way.

I have been pretty stressed out over the impact of this recent "unpleasantness" on my tech stocks so I decided to put a bit of money into some "buy 'em and forget them for ten year stocks."

So I picked NVTSY and SAPHY. SAPHY was actually too highly priced for my better judgement, but I went ahead anyway, they seem like a very solid company.

If prices drop, and if I have the $$$, I will average down and buy more.

If you are interested in pharmaceutical companies, I am a real fan of Teva (TEVIY) They just reported a 49% increase in earnings, first call puts 5 year growth at 35%, and the stock is selling for 15X next year's earnings.

Teva's Israeli nationality puts some people off. But they are the second largest manufacturer of generic drugs in the US and have fantastic management. Stock is at a 52 week low.
