I was no longer talking about abortion. What I wrote was not intended as some sort of indirect pro-abortion polemic. Instead I note that two of the central events (and the moral geography that has filled in around them) share a repudiation of a parent's deepest instincts. I am not inviting a defense of that repudiation; I do note it however.
