What I got from that. On the bright side, empires usually make it to 50% of taxes servicing debt before collapsing. Some even make it close to 100%. We are no where near that yet (12%?).

On the down side, the collapse of the empire seems inevitable and in best case scenario (according to government figures and projections) we collapse in 30 years when we go over 80% of taxes paying interest on debts. Also, many things could accelerate this time frame greatly (like a treasury bond crisis), but still we are probably talking a decade before we hit his magic number of unavoidable empire collapse.

Things are actually more hopeful than I thought in the sense we might be further away from collapse than I though... <ng>
