In Oregon you can trade your snow shovel for a umbrella, nice place and no sales tax I think.

Off Topic: Congrats Koan on your grandchildren, and glad to hear all is well with your son's family. We have two granddaughters 4 and 6 and they are the light of our lives. We're currently moving from So. Cal. to Orcas Island, Washington. Bought a home there last year and we both just retired. Orcas is in the rain shadow of the Olympics so not that much more rain than So. Cal. Beautiful, serene and a strong sense of community compared to LA. Have decided to go now and not wait to make our million in the Canadian mining stocks. :))))) All the best to you and yours. LOL
