This is bullshit. There's been a doubling of CO2 levels since 1880. There are two causes of the increase - burning fossil fuels and deforestation. The vast majority of the added CO2 has been unequivocally shown to be coming from burned fossil fuels.

I would be interested in tracking the source of the 4% estimate. Using carbon-14 isotope ratios, the answer appears closer to 40%. Since I don't know enough about the relation between isotope ratios and exchange mechanisms, that 40% I classify as "suggestive" but not "conclusive".
